If you’re a natural hair enthusiast, the brand Shea Moisture is no stranger to you. When the recession started, Shea Moisture was the first brand I dropped because there was just no way it could fit into my budget at the time. They’ll be relaunching in Nigeria again and the Young Sofi Tucker competition is one of the numerous ways they’ll be trying to give back to society and empower young female entrepreneurs in Nigeria. Read details on how you can participate and win below. Continue reading “WIN ONE MILLION NAIRA IN SHEA MOISTURE’S YOUNG SOFI TUCKER COMPETITION”
I’m shamelessly #BuyNigerian and discovering new Nigerian owned/Made-in-Nigeria beauty and hair care brands truly excite me. I received these products last year from Abebi Organics; a Shea butter based skin & hair care products company , hand made and delivering quality organic, natural products with love.
One word: Amazing.
“The Albimazing subscription box is a natural and organic skincare box that aims to make your journey to better skin as simple and effective as possible”
I’ve always loved the idea of subscription boxes and was literally over the moon when I was told I would be receiving one, it’s like receiving a surprise gift from yourself every month especially if you go for the six-month plan (which grants you access to extra discounts on payment by the way).
It’s the most wonderful time of the yearrrrrrrrrrr
Cue Christmas songs that comes to mind.
It’s no secret that Christmas gets me really excited. I’ve had such a good year and I’m so grateful for everyone that reads, comments and share blog posts. Sometimes I feel like giving up on this blogging thing but then I get emails that really just push me to want to be better, you did that!
Mara Cruiz Organics is a Nigerian owned brand that specializes in producing natural products for hair and skin care. I was fortunate to receive their entire adult hair care range for my personal use and another set to gift a lucky person who would be able to share my experience. The first thing that endeared me to this brand is the affordability and lovely smell! A lot of people I’ve come across are always eager to try indigenous brands but then get put off by the ridiculous prices. The ingredients for each products are safe for natural hair and to prevent this post from being tiresome, I’ve included links to view the complete list of ingredients for each product. They also have a child friendly range specially formulated to care for children’s hair.
Crochet twists are fun, easy to do protective style that still give you access to properly take care of your hair. A protective style would help to protect your hair from harsh summer rays and pool chemicals but still ensure you pay attention to your natural hair underneath.
Apply a bit of coconut oil to your palms and gently unravel each twist, the coconut oil helps to prevent the hair from frizzing. The unraveled twists make for a bigger and bolder look.
Half up, Half down
Take a section from the front part of the hair and secure it firmly with an elastic band. Loosen the secured section by lightly tugging at the underlying bit to conceal the elastic band.
Throw on your favorite accessory to complement your look; a headband, headchain, flower crown, the options are endless.
In all, don’t forget to pay attention to your natural hair, ensure you wash, moisturize and seal regularly. Don’t leave a protective style in for too long and best of all, soak in the warm sun rays and have fun!
