Product Review: Kinky Apothecary Whipped Batter & Grapeseed Oil

I got The Kinky Apothecary whipped batter and grapeseed oil during fashion week last year as a party favor from fashion house; GREY. I forgot about these in the whole excitement of fashion week and got around to using them early this year. The whipped batter is EVERYTHING.

Whipped Batter

Ingredients: Purified water, Pure Unrefined Shea Butter, Pure Unregined Cocoa Butter, Pure Hand-Filtered Aloevera, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Soya Lecithin, Fragrance.

I honestly have only positive things to say about this, the first thing you’ll notice about it is the smell which is amazing, you might be tempted to put a bit in your mouth (I was); don’t. It’s very creamy and doesn’t sit heavily on my thin hair so I used it as a sealant and for styling, helped me achieve a nice twist out.

Grapeseed Oil

This oil is very light, even for my fine strands. I used it twice in my deep conditioning concotions and I can’t say there was any noticeable difference

Have you tried any of these products?

  1. When i was in London I used to use grapeseed oil for detangling, and it was great because it was nice and light. It’s way more expensive here so i don’t use it anymore, however i think its too light for a deep conditioner, maybe as a sealant when its not so humid?
