Kinky Crochet Hair Update

Happy New Month!
In my last post , I said I was going to redo the whole dipping process because I wasn’t happy with the results I got. I did that three days ago because I became sick the next day.

This time around, I used my mum’s coconut oil all over the kinky hair because I thought it was dull and I didn’t want to use my precious castor oil, I put the hair in 10 big braids and my friend helped me dip in really hot water. The picture on the left is from when I loosened the braids about 20 minutes after the whole dipping process while in the picture in the right, I tried separating the curls a bit.
I’ve really been enjoying this hair even though I’m not a fan of black hair and I’m thinking of dyeing the tips, but it’s really easy to maintain. I use my spritz daily on my natural hair and on the kinky hair whenever I feel like then seal with my castor oil every other day. At night, I put the hair in one big loose braid, wear my satin cap and sleep!

    1. Oh mine do too! When I started Black Zulu I decided to invest in a proper camera because looking back at my blog prior to this – the pics were ghastly!

I hope you do get that cam – fingers crossed 🙂

    2. Well I did go for a fancy one, Nikon D3200, coming in at US$500 but that’s because I love taking pics when my girlfriends and I go out and the quality I get now far exceeds what I used to get with my little point and shoot cam. But there are many point and shoots that take good quality pics – once you set them good and proper. Just read through the reviews girl 🙂 Good luck!!

    1. Wherever you want the part to be, let the braids there be clustered. You can draw the kinky/bulk hair across two braids to prevent a wide part. Hope this helps!
